The Truth About 4 Common Hair Care Myths

The Truth About 4 Common Hair Care Myths

Almost all of us are ready to spend a bunch of money or follow any advice to make our hair healthy and shiny.

Some say “Don’t wash your hair everyday or it will get oily faster”

And when you try it, your hair feels oily the next day.

Others say “you need to use mayo, and olive oil, and cucumbers”

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m not a fan of turning my hair into a salad.

So today, I’m going to help you bust the most popular hair care myths.

So let’s get started.

Myth #1: Cutting your hair will make it grow faster.

Wrong!

Cutting your hair will make it look fresher and eliminate split ends but it will not help your hair grow faster.

Why?

Hair grows from the root and not the ends.

The average speed of hair growth is half an inch or a centimeter per month.

So, if you want your hair to grow faster, you need to start nourishing the roots, moisturizing the scalp and maintain a healthy diet.

Myth #2: Dandruff is the result of a dry scalp.

This is probably one of the most ridiculous myths I’ve ever heard because the truth is the complete opposite.

Dandruff occurs in people with an oily scalp so if you’re suffering from this problem, stop using hair oils because this can worsen the situation.

Myth #3: You should never pull out a grey hair because you’ll get 2 or 3 in its place.

Really?

People somehow think that grey hairs possess a supernatural power.

But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t.

Because if this was true, I can just start pulling out healthy hairs to get thicker hair.

Myth #4: You should wash your hair every other day.

Now, this is a myth because just like our fingerprints, everyone’s hair is different.

One advice should not be given to everyone since it’s our genetics and lifestyle factor into our wash regimen.

So if your hair is oily, wash it.

But if your hair feels clean on the second day, then you can wait for another day.

So it all comes down to you and your specific hair type.

And there you have it… 4 hair care myths debunked.
