This Coconut Hair Mask Is Like An At-Home Tropical Vacation
Share
How would you like to get away from it all…
...without taking a vacation?
I’m sure you'd agree that, in the midst of your mile-a-minute lifestyle, giving your mind and spirit a little escape can be a real treasure.
Maybe you beautify your home with the color and aroma of exotic flowers.
Or you might feed your soul with yoga, burn some incense, or take a few minutes to meditate.
But if you’re anything like us, you get away by giving yourself a taste of the tropics...
TROPICAL FRUIT
“Tropical fruit is like a joyous, refreshing island vacation that you can taste!”
That’s right:
There’s nothing like the succulent flavor of papaya, guava, passion fruit, and other all-natural island delicacies.
As soon as that taste hits your lips, it’s like you’re on a sun-kissed beach...sand between your toes, breeze on your face...not a care in the world.
And the best part is, these fruits are not only scrumptious...they’re also super good for you!
That’s because tropical fruit is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and other healing nutrients.
That means when you enjoy tropical fruit as an “edible island getaway”...
...you’re also making sure you’ll be healthy, fit, and full of energy for your own exciting vacation trips!
IF IT’S GOOD FOR YOUR BODY…
Fortunately, like many of your favorite nutritious foods, tropical fruit is excellent for the health and well-being of every part of your body…
...including your hair!
Those nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that give your skin, digestion, and optimum weight such a turbocharged boost…
...also help keep your hair strong, naturally moisturized, and full of sparkle and vivacity!
And that support is especially important this time of year…
...when summer sun, humidity, and all the challenges of travel-and-leisure hair maintenance are ready to leave your locks feeling like they could use a vacation!
A TROPICAL HAIR SAVER
In fact, you don’t even need to eat tropical fruit to enjoy its hair-fortifying power.
It’s just as effective as a potently active ingredient in a topical hair treatment!
To show you what we mean, here’s an ideal-for-summer hair mask you can try out for yourself.
This mask, which you can make in no time at all with just a handful of basic ingredients, features two of our favorite tropical treats, starting with...
COCONUT
“Nothing says ‘tropical’ quite like the smell and taste of fresh coconut.”
Prized for centuries throughout the tropics for its body-and-hair-rejuvenating strength, the oil from this classic symbol of island living is a near-miraculous hair refresher.
That’s because it naturally penetrates your follicles far deeper than other hair-nourishing oils.
It moisturizes to reduce tangle, itchy scalp, and dandruff...smooths split ends…and enhances volume and shine.
It also offers your hair the same UV sunlight protection as the coconut oil found in a variety of tropical-scented sunscreens.
And, by removing excess oils, which keeps you from over-washing your hair…
...your scalp can retain more of its natural nutrients, for thicker, faster, and longer hair growth!1
It almost seems like there’s nothing coconut oil can’t do to give you fresher, more invigorated hair.
But since we’re all about going that extra mile for your hair, this mask also includes…
MANGO
“If you’re looking for a sweet and healthy treat, mangoes are among the very best.”
This soft, juicy fruit is naturally loaded with vitamin A...a key component in your scalp’s ability to produce the essential oils you need to grow strong, style-easy hair.
And one serving of mango also gives you plenty of vitamin C. Your body uses this vitamin to help maintain its production of collagen.
That’s a protein crucial for helping your hair maintain its structure, shape, and flexibility.2
So, combine these two vitally beneficial tropical fruits into one hair mask…
...and you get a treatment ready to give you sleek, luscious, bouncy, and beautiful locks…
...whether you’re off on your own vacation adventure, or enjoying the summer right here at home!
FRESH HAIR TROPICAL MASK
To make this hair treatment at home, you’ll need:
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- The juice from 1 ripe or overripe mango
You’ll want to use this treatment on days when you’re planning to shampoo and condition your hair.
Also, while it can be used on both wet and dry tresses, we find that it’s a bit easier to apply to hair that’s already wet.
Here’s how you make and apply this tropical hair mask:
- Pour all three ingredients into a small saucepan.
- Heat them just enough so you can easily combine them with a spoon.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl.
- Apply the mixture to the full length of your hair. You should focus the best of your attention on the tips, as this is a great treatment against split-end damage.
- Wrap your hair into a bun, and leave it to set for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Then, just shampoo and condition your hair as normal.
Using this treatment regularly will give you major shine and vitality…
...with a scent as cool and enticing as a fresh-whipped piña colada!
TROPICAL LOCKS
No doubt about it:
Even if your summer plans don’t include a stop in the tropics…
...you can still use this no-fuss DIY hair mask for some silky-smooth island flair!
